Difference between TIS software and System Software sections in Software Management

Hello,

I was digging into the official articles and documentation about updating TIS product and that is the only reference I could find:

https://docs.trellix.com/bundle/advanced-threat-defense-4.6.x-installation-guide/page/GUID-071CB440-...

My questions is what is the difference between these two sections in ATD/TIS (Manage->Image & Software -> Software) - TIS Software and System Software?

My findings and understanding so far are that TIS Software could be used with all different files (msu, zip, rpm and etc.) to update content/software updates while the System Software if meant to be used only for msu files in regards to updating the appliance software/patch version.

Can anyone confirm it or explain it for me?

Thanks

Re: Difference between TIS software and System Software sections in Software Management

Hi ninov_n,

TIS Software used to be used in older versions of ATD, not used anymore now.

msu Upgrades and detection packages installation are all done via System Software, after you have uploaded those packages to ATD using FTP.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Best regards,
