What does this error mean in Solidcore logs?

Jump to solution

I was looking at the solidcore.log file located in %PROGRAMDATA% on my Windows endpoint, and I saw the following error:

ERROR: cap_kern.c : 1817: Failed to open file 'Registry'. err = 22

What does this error mean? I also noticed that I have been experiencing other solidcore errors like my client task not running, and the solidcore policies not updating even when I do wake up agent and force policy update.

This appears to be a benign error.  I see the same error in my MACC client logs, which is working successfully.  I do not think this error contributes to any client task or policy issue that I'm aware of.

If you're having a client or policy issue, you might want to contact our McAfee Support team (via https://support.mcafee.com) for further investigation .

Hi @karentv1 ,

Thank you for posting. This looks to be an inventory corruption issue.
