Windows defender updates are blocked

I have windows 10 machine with standalone McAfee application control version 8.2.1.435 installed on it. The system is solidified.

When this system is connected to the internet, Windows defender downloads the latest platform updates (released once a month). When it tries to install it, McAfee application control blocks it. Windows tries to download and install every 10mins consuming 20mb of space each time because of the download file. In a span of 15days it consumes all the disk space due to the repetitive process.

I also downloaded the 8.3 version and upgraded the system's application control version to 8.3. I still have the same issue. Please note after upgrading the system to 8.3 I did not re solidify the system as it was already done in the 8.2.1.435 version

If is disable the whitelisting everything works fine. But i cannot disable it for this purpose.

Could you please help me to resolve this issue.

Version information:

OS = Windows 10 1809

MACC = 8.2.1.435 also tried on 8.3

sadmin status = enabled
