"McAfee Solidifier prevented unauthorized execution" alerts

McAfee Solidifier prevented unauthorized execution of 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dfre333.dll' (sha1: 4564566906456765745674567e000e5561b, md5: chdgfgh5e675676543ry675346, sha256: ery645664e6ertyrh4567546456k4563456k4365k, File Type: pe32) by process C:\Program Files (x86)\Engineer\AMD\Process\bin\ProtectionService.exe (Process Id: 6408, User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) whose parent is process C:\Windows\System32\services.exe, deny_reason : Local Whitelist - File Not Present (deny reason code: 2) reputation score: 1000

I've added the dfre33.dll file as an updater and I'm still getting this alert. How can I get this file to execute properly?

Re: "McAfee Solidifier prevented unauthorized execution" alerts

Hi @Former Member

Thank you for reaching out this community.

At first, could you try the execution in Update mode?

Please run "sadmin bu" and then try the execution.

I'd like to do it without putting the machine in update mode.

Re: "McAfee Solidifier prevented unauthorized execution" alerts

This is your error.

McAfee Solidifier prevented unauthorized execution of 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dfre333.dll' (sha1: 4564566906456765745674567e000e5561b, md5: chdgfgh5e675676543ry675346, sha256: ery645664e6ertyrh4567546456k4563456k4365k, File Type: pe32) by process C:\Program Files (x86)\Engineer\AMD\Process\bin\ProtectionService.exe (Process Id: 6408, User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) whose parent is process C:\Windows\System32\services.exe, deny_reason : Local Whitelist - File Not Present (deny reason code: 2) reputation score: 1000

The deny is because dfre333.dll is not solidifed (not on the whitelist)

Options for fix:

1. Solidify file "sadmin so C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dfre333.dll"

2. Solidify directory for missed files or improper configuration with windows updates "C:\Windows\"

See kb91257 for more informatino

3. Make ProtectionService.exe an updater.
