DLP Endpoint causing print issue

Hi all,

Recently, one of my user are having print issue, whenever she send a print job, the print will hang for 10min and more, then the print job will appear in the printer.

After checking, once i uninstall the DLP endpoint, the printing become smooth and no hanging issue, however once i installed back the DLP endpoint into the laptop, same issue occurred.

Laptop details:

DLP endpoint 11.3.1

Any idea how to fix this?

@clare Thank you for choosing McAfee Support Community

Can you please let us know how you are printing docs . Is it via any specific application or just print on any doc.

Also can you share us the screenshot of printer protection rule applied for the machine ?

Re: DLP Endpoint causing print issue

Hi @clare ,

Thank you for writing in here.

As per the rule screenshot we could see that you have many classifications selected and each classification could Inturn have many criteria in them which would add up to the scan time.

However to troubleshoot further, do not remove dlp from the machine. Assign a normal printer protection rule alone without any classifications by selecting any data only to this machine on a test basis and watch out the time taken for printing. By this way we can figure out if the delay is because the classifications or due to something else.

If you find this post useful give it a Kudos!

Thank you

Hi @clare ,

I have to re-post this as my earlier account had issues and I have brought it down.
