How web post protection rules can monitor text posts

Hello everyone.

As release for 11.3 says, "Because web post protection rules mainly rely on Chrome browser extensions, text posts can only be monitored." Someone knows, how exactly we can use this type of rule for monitoring text posts (not file uploads) and how it's working? I tested it and couldn't monitor any content in web post. File upload with the same entry was blocked properly.

Re: How web post protection rules can monitor text posts

smegrelishvili,

I believe you are reading from Page 103 of the DLP 11 Product Guide. As stated in the guide, "One alternative to blocking web posts at the endpoint is to apply McAfee DLP Network rules by enforcing the same web post protection rules on McAfee DLP Prevent. You can also use McAfee Web Gateway, which has native DLP capabilities.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

Re: How web post protection rules can monitor text posts

Hello

I have read that in release notes for DLP 11.3. This moment was little bit unclear - "Because web post protection rules mainly rely on Chrome browser extensions, text posts can only be monitored", becouse i put in web post (in gmail message pool for example) the same content, which i had in file (that file was blocked during the upload proberly) and was not monitored.

I just checked pg103 in guide and there's nothing important about it, i have created rule properly i think, upload data parameter is "any data upload".

Thank you !
