application control - trying to block one custom internal site but not working

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am trying to block https://myinternal.site.com from a specified user group.

i have the conditions set to the group and defined the URL list for the site and set it in the policy.  no exceptions set and block is set.

policy is applied to system. but it does not block site for the user?

what is needed to be enabled in the client configuration options under 'operational modes and modules'?

what other areas am i missing for this to apply?

using DLPe 11.3 from epo.

Thanks.

Hello and thank you for posting here!

Which browser have you been testing with? If it is Chrome, there is a limitation where file uploads can blocked, however web posts and URLs via Web Application cannot be blocked. KB92153 contains details.

Thank you for the follow up and link.
trying to block from chrome, edge chrome and IE.
only IE blocks.

Had to enable under the Windows Client > Web Protection > 'Process HTTP Get requests'.

also looks like i needed to enable under 'operational mode and modules' > 'browser address bar url detection' and 'browsers' (options for web protection and extensions).

Thanks.
