DEGO not seen by mcafee removal tool

Our server techs tried to remove mcafee from the servers their way and what was left behind is just DEGO, drives were never encrypted. Using the McAfee endpoint removal tool, it does not see DEGO to remove it and the McAfee Encryption line shows undetected (assuming it is looking for the DE agent). What steps can we give the server team to stop the DEGO service and remove it from the Windows 2012 server?

it is also not showing up in add/remove programs in control panel but we see the service running.
