HP 650 G1

Jump to solution

I wanted to see if we can get something towards a final solution for this. We've gotten a lot of work from home requests due to the current situation around the world. Our divisions in our environment have been hording HP 650 G1 Dual Core laptops.

We're currently using ENS and Encryption V. 7.2.9.5 as our current production for Encryption.

With SSO enabled, we're experiencing that after the pre-boot authentication the screen just goes black, and never boots.

We use UEFI but have a history of Legacy, so there's a mix of each. We're using Windows 10 v. 1809 and some with 1803 currently upgrading.

We have had ONE successful HP 650 G1 encrypt after being able to boot into safe mode and update a video driver, the rest are just getting a blank screen.

Is there any other suggestions? I was looking for a Hardware Compatibility tool but under the enterprise login, I'm not able to find it.

If anyone has any suggestions or can direct me to the tool for DE Hardware issues, that would be very helpful while we get people to work from home.

HI @ChristopherTB ,

Thank you for writing in here.

We had issues with MDE 7.2.9.5 as you suggested, so we advise you to update to MDE 7.2.9.17 to get most of the issues fixed.

Kindly make sure you have the firmware in these machines updated to their latest version.

Kindly make sure you have the Hardware Compatibility xml file version updated to version 92 in the EPO server settings page,

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB81900

You can download the Drive Encryption package and extract the same and can check the MDE Misc folder to get the Hardware Compatibility Tool

Thank you.
