Smart cards using Drive Encryption

We are currently using passwords for drive encryption and are looking to switch to smart cards.  We currently have two sets of smart cards in use.  They are HID Crescendo brand and are versions 1100 and 2300B.  The 1100 series cards work fine with Drive encryption with no issues.  However the 2300B cards give the error of "unsupported card."   Has anyone else experienced this or seen issues with getting this same error message?
