Unable to Force Crypt Sectors

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have a secondary disk used for data only (no OS) that needs to be decrypted. The primary has already been rebuilt, but the secondary was not decrypted and it is now inaccessible. The drive is 500 GB in size, and whenever I try the Force Crypt Sectors option, after providing the Start and Number of sectors, it then complains that the maximum disk sector number is 2007040. Is there a way around this limitation?

The DE version installed on the laptop was 7.2.9.14.

Many thanks.

EETech doesn't have such limitations. You have selected incorrect disk to decrypt (probably a 1GB USB drive which you booted EETech).

Thanks for that, I have used that function before and I did not have to select a drive. I have now noticed that it was defaulting to a Disk 0, which must be the 1 GB USB drive. This time I selected Disk 1 and the decryption started without any issues.
