Re: Where has Drive encryption Tool like EZPE that Jay Appell shared on the McAfee Community gone to

Hi There,

I plan to work on this over the weekend. I just created a new website that can be spidered by the numerous search engines. I am slowly copying content to mcafeejay.org. A few parts and pieces are now active as of last night. More will be refined this evening as it is a work in progress. I am consulting this week and realize how many people are looking for this. Please be patient as I have to put together a new version, QA and then release to you. I will place this content on the community and mcafeejay.org.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for your posting. The website you were using external to McAfee was requested to be shutdown. The reason that content was moved off of the community was due to the many requests that I received that information was difficult to locate here since the Feb migration. I migrated content to an external site to make it easier for those of you to locate.

I am in the process of returning content here or suitable location for all of you to find regularly.

Jay,

This is more of a rhetorical question, as the work you've put into making the recovery process of MDE actually functional is amazing and I can give nothing but praise and admiration for your work.

However, why does it seem like McAfee is actively complicating the process of hosting software that should otherwise be included in the product as a matter of course?

Feel free not to answer, as I said, just rhetorical. 🙂

Thanks again for all your work!

Hi Matt,

Thanks so much for your note and comments, I really appreciate it. And now lets talk about your question. The entire purpose of the community is to provide customers, users and employees an outlet to assist each other. As an employee, customer, educator and engineer I have always been of the mindset that we can make things easier for each other. Sometimes things that seem to be common sense just aren't. I find that frustrating just like you.

Your perception is not a lone thought either. My contribution is starting to make a ripple within so thats progress I guess. I have no control over what others do, thankfully, but I do have control on what I can do for others. I have tried in the past to make progress in various areas previously but have been unsuccessful. Every company has rules and we are abliged to obide by them even though they might make little sense to any of us.

Having tools for our products are important to everyone. I'm not kidding when I tell you it is a huge undertaking. When I created the EZ Series a number of years ago it began as a labor of love to fulfill a void that had been there since SafeBoot. Now I see that IT professionals, our support organization and customers rely on it. That's when you know your solving the needs of the mass, it's inspiring to me!

I hope that helped to answer your question. If others use the tool I would ask that they also post a comment on what they think. That isn't for me but for those above me that might not think this is time well spent.

Thanks Again for your feedback and thoughts!

There has been an ongoing issue with the forums I manage. They have been showing as closed. Go to the following link: https://community.mcafee.com/t5/Educational-Services-Jay-Appell/gp-p/EducationalServicesJayAppell

Request access to group, if it shows as Closed, and make sure you are logged into the community with your account. After you request access you should see all of the forums that I moderate. Look for the Encryption Exchange.
