Any way to reduce the number of old AMCORE files ENS keeps?

Jump to solution

We found that our server fleet with McAfee endpoint 10.7 having old AMCORE files of about 8GB in the path C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\Engine\content\avengine\med.

You know storage is expensive these days and cost money, wondering if there is any way to reclaim disk space by reducing the old AmCore files? We would like to keep 1 old version for rollback purposes.

Hi @bodysoda,

Thank you for your post. as seen from the picture, I understand that the number of revisions of amcore versions being stored is more than 3. This is definitely not the expected product behavior.

ENS is not supposed to hold more than 3 revisions by itself in this locations. In order to reclaim the space immediately, you may have to turn off Self protection and remove these files right away, however, if you prefer this to be investigated further by support, I would recommend creating a ticket with support with the files present and working to identify the cause of this behavior.

Technical support diagnosed issues and found ENS installation package was corrupted on the server which had multiple old AMCORE files. After clean up EPO master repository and reimporting the ENS package back, I was able to resolve these issues.

Thanks for Mcafee Technical support, you guys are very polite, helpful & who have the good product knowledge to resolve the issues with one phone call :).
