Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

I can get the agent to install but cannot install Endpoint Security - it just sits there and the installation never finishes

Re: Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

@User11928191 Can you please provide more details--what OS version, what ENS version, what version of MA have you installed? Is this an ePO-deployed or local installation attempt?

Do you see that logs are being generated in either %temp%\McAfeeLogs (if a local install) or C:\Windows\Temp\McAfeeLogs (if ePO)? If so, do you see any injection occurring in the MFESysPrep.log? In any installation/bootstrapper logs, do you see progress or errors?

Re: Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

I am having the issue on Windows 7 and Windows 10 using EPS 10.5 and 10.6. We are in ePO managed mode

Re: Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

@User11928191 Though you are ePO managed, you can still have the installation executed remotely or done locally on the system. Which are you doing? Do you have access to the systems where you would be able to confirm logging status beginning with the items referenced before?

Re: Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

I am trying to install manually on the workstations.

I can get the logging info if you tell me how?

Re: Cannot install Endpoint Security on several computers

@User11928191 You would want to check to see if that logs are being generated in either %temp%\McAfeeLogs (if a local install) or C:\Windows\Temp\McAfeeLogs (if ePO).

If you see logs there, then you want to sort by date so they're in chronological order and check in the MFESysPrep.log if you see that it shows any unrecognized injectors? You also want to check any installation/bootstrapper logs, to see if you see progress or errors.

In most cases, if you need detailed assistance with reviewing the logs for an installation, then it's easiest to collect a MER and then open a Service Request with Support for review. If you're comfortable sharing some installation logs on the forum, you could do so by sharing recent logs from that McAfeeLogs folder, but most often, for retaining your system privacy, I don't advise that too many full logs are shared here as this is a public forum.
