Command Line removal of ENS for Windows

Jump to solution

We are needing to use BigFix to remove ENS from an encrypted windows machine.  Is there a command we can run to remove ENS completely but leaving the EPO and DE agents?

Hi @sw41

Thank you for your post. If it is removal of ENS, you can always create a ticket with us or login to your downloads portal to obtain EPR (Endpoint Product Removal Tool) to perform selective product uninstallation(This can be run via command prompt as well with specific parameters for specific product removals).

When uninstalling via command prompt, we can extract the uninstall string that should be available under the registry path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Please perform a search for the below terms:

  1. McAfee Endpoint Security Firewall
  2. McAfee Endpoint Security Adaptive Threat Protection
  3. McAfee Endpoint Security Web Control
  4. McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention
  5. McAfee Endpoint Security Platform

The "Uninstall String" value should give you the right commands for uninstallation. I sincerely hope this helps!

Hello @sw41 ,

Thank you for your query.

The Endpoint Product Removal tool (EPR tool) can be run from the command line. The appropriate command line arguments with the tool to run from command line to remove ENS would be "<name of executable>.exe --acceptEULA --ENS"

Use the latest ENS removal tool to remove the traces of the server

Please be advised the latest McAfee Endpoint Product Removal Tool is now available from the McAfee Download Site, behind appropriate grant numbers.

Please navigate to the following URL to download the McAfee Removal Tool.

https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/my-products.html?region=us

You can use Category filter “Utilities & Connectors” for the download tool.

Please refer the following article for the same

Hello Rohit,

that would be too easy. I always get Database Error, but thanks.
I found the script somewhere else:
