Documentation of the command line options for fwinfo.exe

Jump to solution

I am looking for documentation for fwinfo.exe.  The public command line options are

C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\SystemCore>fwinfo /?
Usage:

fwinfo

Options:

-Summary
Display a summary of the policies.
-ConfigDisplay
Display the global state and configuration.
-IpConfig
                Display the IP configuration.
-PolicyDisplay
Display the contents of all policies.
-PolicyDisplayXml
Display the contents of all policies in XML format.
-BlackListDisplay
                Display the current IP blacklist.
-BlackListDisplayXml
Display the current IP blacklist in XML format.
-TrafficLog
Set traffic log on or off.
-TrafficLogSize
Set max size of traffic log to xxx bytes.
-TrafficLogMask
Set traffic log mask to xxx (xxx is interpreted as hex).
-statetable
Display the current connection state table.
-eptable
                Display the current opened endpoints.
-proclist
Display the list of currently active processes.
-proc xxx
Display process info for the specified PID.

Returning error: 0xFFFFFFFF

I have searched the McAfee KB and not found documentation for this utility. Does anyone have any additional info on it?

Bonus point if anyone has information on data returned by the options.  For example, fwinfo.exe -proc returns a Validated and Trusted True/False value.  I suspect these are for the executable's code signing certificate given the context there are many possibilities.

Today I am looking for info specifically on fwinfo.exe -eptables.  It appears to be the McAfee version of netstat -a -b.

Hi @spdif, there is no additional information about this fwinfo.exe tool, as it's mainly used for dev-level troubleshooting.  The help info you listed here is pretty much all that's available and used when collecting debug info for Firewall/Firecore troubleshooting (e.g., https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB90662).
