ENS 10.6.0 and HP Data protector slow performance

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm currently experiencing a performance issue when backing up with hp data protector. Have you ever had this problem with ENS 10.6.0? Do you know what exclusions to make for this product? currently the VBDA.exe process is already excluded.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

You would need to reach out to HP for advice on what exclusions to set. This is not something we can advise on as it's not our own application.

Personally, I've not seen any issues raised by customers for this specific application.

Try to use latest version of HP Data protector. Some HP Data protector issues was resolved in the latest version, also when HP Data protector trying to disable McAfee and generating threat events.

for exclusion you need to check what services used by HP Data protector and put them into Low-Risk On-Access Scan.

Hi @Former Member,

Thank you for your post. I would recommend you to start from gaining a list of executables that belong to the Backup application and defining them as Low risk processes if you trust them.

Also ENS being more efficient and newer in technology, I would recommend using ENS over VSE on the machines for overall better scan performance and protection.

If issue still persists, please open a Service Request to investigate the same further.
