Hi, I am stuck trying to get ENS to showup as installed on any agents.
I have requested a trial, and have checked in the packages and extensions included in the download.
The only extension which wont load is the Client Proxy Extension - which reports that it is not compatible with the verison of ePO which I am running (which is also a trial of 5.10.0 - I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the cause of the problem though.
Ive created a client task to push the Threat Prevention module out and it appears to be being pushed out to the agent, but does not show as installed on the agent once the task has completed.
I dont have a grant number, so am unable to get any tech support..
My account manage at McAfee says that he doesnt have an avenue to offer access to tech support without us being a customer, so I am a bit stuck.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Regards
Rich

Hi @rwardley
You mentioned installed ENSTP 10.6.0.672 on your 2019 servers. The reason it's failing is because it's not compatible. Depending on the exact version we can help you find out which version you need to be installing, but you need at least 10.6.1 RTW - you have selected 10.6.0
You can see the compatibility in this KB: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB82761
Thanks guys - it would seem that the 2 devices I tried to deploy to were Win10 1903 and Server 2019 1903 both of which are not compatible with the version of EMS I have.
Now my problem is - the ENS trial which Mcafee link to if you request a Trial is McAfee_Endpoint_Security_10_6_0_357_13_epo_enterprise_evaluation.
My the trial of EPO (EPO510_2428_18_LR4) I have installed - doesnt display Endpoint Protection 10.6.1 as being available to checkin / download.
Are you able to assist with this please ?

Rich
You should have a sales engineer, no?
You really don't need the Client Proxy unless you are using the McAfee Web Gateway in the cloud.
On the agent, does it show after a reboot?
Hi @rwardley
Firstly, Thank you for this post. My apologies for the challenges you are facing in accessing Tech Support. I hope you find this post as good as tech support on call. To begin with, I would like to request you to help me with the files you find under "C:\windows\Temp\McAfee logs".
You can either upload it to your post or send it to me via private message so that i can have it looked into for you.
Also, here are few questions that should help me funnel down the possibilities:
ENS version you are trying to install?
Windows version that is running?
McAfee Agent version installed?
From the ePO Server, Are you deploying using deployment task? or "Run Client task now" option?
Please reply at your convenience and I will have a watch out for your response!
Hi Adithyan - many thanks for your offer.
ENS version - 10.6
Windows Server 2019 Standard
Agent Version 5.5.1.342
Run Client Task Now optio
I have just run the task once more - it started at 19:11.
I dont see a corresponding log in C:\windows\Temp\McAfee logs, but have attached what was there and also the agent log from the client.

Rich
I should perhaps mention, the only product in the task to deploy is Treat Prevention 10.6.0.672.
Also - looking at the timestamps of the logs which are in C:\windows\Temp\McAfee logs - they must be logs for a scheduled task which runs during the night - as I woudlnt have run anything at those times manually.
Hi @rwardley
Thank you for your response. Firstly my apologies for the delay, Our work hours don't seem to be the same. However, I will try my best to reply as soon as I can. Please bear with me for a while, and I shall immediately start looking into these logs and see what is going on!
We appreciate your time and patience with us.

Hi @rwardley
I hope I din't reply too soon! Firstly, I have to agree, I don't see a relevant log in C:\Windows\Temp\McAfeeLogs folder. However I found a handful of entries related to ENS ATP deployment. Hence, My first question:
1) Can you please share the name of the package being deployed?
The task name being used here to perform the deployment is Endpoint Security Deployment Task - Only Prevention.
The task itself does not evince any errors at all, it basically succeeds and frees itself. So we can confirm that there is no issue with the McAfee Agent in accepting task from ePO and running it. The issue seems to be with the task itself and how it is configured. Can you share a screengrab of the task configuration from ePO ?
If I am not wrong, the deployment task contains package to deploy ATP - Advance Threat Protection. What we should be getting in here though are 2 packages essentially:
Endpoint Security Platform and Endpoint Security Threat Prevention.
I am fairly confident that the issue must be resolved once we configure the right packages for deployment! If it does not get resolved, then what am I here for? Feel free to reply to this post and I will be very happy to assist you with the same. Looking forward to your kind response!
Happy Evaluating!
*update: Looks like I skipped the whole OS part. Apologies for that! @Former Member rightly highlighted, yes compatibility would definitely be an issue here if you are trying to deploy an older version here! Please review the same and ensure you are deploying the latest and greatest we have to offer ( ENS 10.6.1 July repost) and let us know if we could be of any further help.

I'm afraid you'd need to contact your sales team / vendor who supplied you with the trial license so they can give you the appropriate version. If you don't know who best to approach our customer services team may be best to assist.
