The support for Windows 7/2008 ends on 31/12/21. We use ENS as part of our ePO system, are you able to confirm whether these operating systems will still get DAT files as part of the daily update please?
Hi @harris_s ,
Please refer to KB Below.
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91432
How will support be handled?
McAfee Enterprise will support each of the above products in full until December 31, 2021. McAfee Enterprise will provide extended support until December 31, 2023 as noted. Only product versions that are officially designated by McAfee Enterprise as 'Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 extended support versions' are eligible to receive extended support on eligible operating systems from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023.
The Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 extended support versions will continue to receive security fixes, content updates, and case-by-case bug fixes as long as it is technically and commercially viable for McAfee Enterprise. Also, this support will continue as long as there is no external dependency. For example, if a McAfee Enterprise product requires Microsoft to provide a fix and Microsoft can't provide the fix, then McAfee Enterprise can't support the product on that operating system any longer.
Thanks.

Yes, I've read the KB, it makes no reference to DAT file updates and ePO?
Hi @harris_s,
Thank you for your post. As mentioned on the KB,
The Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 extended support versions will continue to receive security fixes, content updates, and case-by-case bug fixes as long as it is technically and commercially viable for McAfee Enterprise.
Here 'content update' refers to both DAT/AMCore content. Hope this clarifies your concern.
Kind Regards,

So to clarify, if we don't take up the extended support we will no longer get DAT/AMCore updates for Windows 7 and 2008/R2 endpoints through Endpoint Security via ePO?
Hi @harris_s,
DAT/AMCore content will be available in your ePO environment. And since you have ENS installed on Win 7 and 2008 R2 machines the AMCore will be received by the product. However, without extended support, McAfee Technical support team will not be supporting these OS's should they encounter any technical issues.
Kind Regards,
