Hi,
Not sure if anyone has seen this behavior yet, but I'm evaluating the latest ENS for mac 10.6.2 with the firewall, web control, TP & ATP options & after a clean install on OS X 10.14.5, the firewall & web control policies don't take effect. The other policies do take effect however. I've tried reinstalling with no luck & installing it on another one running 10.14.5 with the same results. I also tried doing an upgrade from 10.5.9, but no luck there either. The only way I could get them to apply was to downgrade ENS to version 10.5.9 & keep it there. After that, all was well. Here is a shot of both systems:
installed products 10.6.2
applied policies 10.6.2
installed products 10.5.9
applied policies 10.5.9
The first 2 are the failed policies with the installed 10.6.2 products listed & the next 2 are the working policies with the 10.5.9 installed products. I noticed that the products listed for both are not displayed the same for the firewall & web control. Not sure if that's a factor in this. I've applied all of the latest extensions & license extension. Both systems are running the latest 5.6.1.157 agent & I'm running ePO ver 5.9.1. The only other difference is hardware. One is a brand new mac mini & the other is an iMac.
As a side note, I have ENS for windows 10.6.1 running fine with all of the policies being applied correctly.
I'm hoping someone has seen this behavior & knows of a fix.
Thanks.
On the first screenshot, FW and WC modules are uninstalled (please look on the 4th column, which is not attached with this screenshot.
If FW and WC will be installed, policies should apply.
Please also note, that DXL client is also not installed (on both: 10.5.9 and 10.6.2).
FW, WP & DXL are installed. I didn't include that column in the screenshots because I didn't think it was necessary, but they are there & installed. I'm going to remove FW & WP from ePO & re-add them back in & hopefully they'll install correctly this time, even though I got no errors the first time. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for responding.
OK, so that made no difference. After uninstalling them, removing the packages from ePO & then re-adding & re-installing there was no change in the behavior. The policies still won't take effect. I'm starting to lean towards an issue with this specific version of the FW & WP. Unless someone has more info/suggestions, I'm going to open a ticket.
Could you attach full screenshot from products installed on the system with 10.6.2?
Because you have no descriptions, products are not installed correctly. If product is installed, instead of "ENDP_WP_1060MACX" you should have "Endpoint Security Web Control".
Please also check versions of installed extensions. Do they match 10.6.2?
Sorry for not responding sooner. Here's what you requested:
10.5.9 installed - working
10.6.2 installed - failing
As you can see, the first shot shows 10.5.9 installed & you can also see when I uninstalled 10.6.2. The second shot shows 10.6.2 installed. I do agree with you where the names of the FW & WP are not displaying correctly under 10.6.2. I'm guessing that's why it's not working properly, but I'm not really sure.
Are your extensions up to date? Can you share the versions with us?
@Former Member
Yes, the extensions are all up-to-date. Here's a shot from the software manager:
Does the issue persist if you assign the McAfee Default policies for ENSM?
