McAfee ENS Signature update is causing server RDP access to be blocked

When we encounter session log on timeouts for servers, a trace of earlier McAfee Endpoint Security Application Logs point to ?Update in Progress? but with NO corresponding ?Update Finished? entry. Example: 8/02/2019 12:31:28 p.m. mfeesp(1432.2980) PackageManager.PackageManager.Activity: Update Finished 8/02/2019 4:30:00 p.m. mfeesp(1432.2964) PackageManager.PackageManager.Activity: Starting AutoUpdate: Default AutoUpdate 8/02/2019 4:30:12 p.m. mfeesp(1432.1620) PackageManager.PackageManager.Activity: Update in Progress 8/02/2019 4:30:12 p.m. mfeesp(1432.3128) PackageManager.PackageManager.Activity: Please wait for update to finish... 8/03/2019 12:24:46 p.m. mfeesp(2032.2704) PackageManager.PackageManager.Activity: Starting AutoUpdate: Default AutoUpdate You can see the update did not finish and there are a number of entries missing - it was at this point that user logins could not occur until a restart of the server has occurred. Is there a reason that the McAfee ENS Signature update would: - stall and not complete - as a result, cause the server to not be able to be RDP'd into.

@Former Member

Ideally it would not stop RDP session.

What is  the version of your ENS. Let me know how often this issue occurs, is it happening on a particular time?

Have you scheduled a task for the Amcore update? Provide us with few more information.
