Need information on Windows 10 OS 1809 Compatibility for McAfee

Team, we are trying to perform an inplace upgrade from Windows 10 OS 1709 to Windows 10 OS 1809 but ENS 10.5.4  (current version) not compatible.

When i reviewed this KB article: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB85784

i could see that  the below message in the article:

October 15, 2018Added note: Microsoft has paused the rollout of Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update). McAfee is further testing Windows 10 version 1809 compatible products based on Microsoft update KB4464330. This article will be updated when Microsoft resumes rolling out 1809.

However the article says ENS 10.5.,5 & 10.6.1 are compatible but above says <McAfee is still testing it.

Can we upgrade to ENS 10.5.1 or 10.6.1in order to upgrade to Windows 10 OS 1809.

Please provide your inputs.

KB82761 confirms that these are the branches which we support. There are other branches which if not listed here, we do not support.

The listed branches are the main windows 10 branches:

  • Semi-Annual Channel (SAC - The previous names for this branch were Current Branch (CB) and Current Branch for Business (CBB).)
  • Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC - The previous name for this branch was Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB).)

Please let us know any exact questions you have about this KB and the compatiblity.

This technote might help clarify the different branches too: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/33703.windows-10-servicing-branches-cb-c...

You can use the table in KB85784 to look at the products compatible with 1809. I'll ask the KB team to remove those notes as they are slightly confusing now.

If for exmaple you check the ENS 10.6.1 release notes, you can see we have added the compatibility:

Thanks for your swift response. Will check the information and will get back to you by tomorrow. However i would like to have a clarification on the below points given in the link:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB82761

ENS supports the following Windows 10 branches:
Semi-Annual Channel (SAC - The previous names for this branch were Current Branch (CB) and Current Branch for Business (CBB).)
Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC - The previous name for this branch was Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB).)
For details about the Windows 10 branches, see https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsitpro/2017/07/27/waas-simplified-and-aligned/.
