Questions regrading skiplist -v...

  • Exclude volume from Application Control protection, specify a volume in the Volume field to bypass the volume from Application Control protection using the skiplist -v command. This option detaches the specified volume from the whitelist and the volume is not protected by Application Control.

I noticed that it says it detaches the volume from the whitelist. Does that mean that Solidcore will still block executables from these volumes, but will otherwise be ignored by Solidcore?

I ask because we have a couple of File Servers with multiple drives dedicated solely to user shares. In order to allow users to modify files in the shares, I tried using the skiplist -s option. This allows users to modify the shares and keeps executables from those shares from running on the server. However, users do experience delayed "save" times (specifically with Office files) in those network shares. I wanted to see if using skiplist -v would still prevent executables from running on the server that originate from the excluded volumes but will otherwise be ignored by Solidcore (not solidified and no file operations are performed on those volumes).
