After migrating a system from VSE to ENS the same tasks now take much longer to complete. The system in question is used for compiling data and which involves copying files from a server down to the system and then back up to the server.
I removed ENS and put VSE back on the system and the issues went away, so the issue has something to do with ENSTP. If I turn OAS off, the issues also go away. I have verified all exclusions are the same between ENSTP and VSE policy, but cannot pinpoint the issue causing the extreme slowness.
Also, unchecking "Scan when copying from network folders and removable drives" does not have any effect.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or know what is causing this issue?
Hi @KingInTheNorth,
Good day to you!
The ENS has additional features and improved scanning mechanism compared to VSE. Hence you would definitely be seeing some changes in the functionality.
Now that you have isolated the component that is causing the problem "OAS" we would need to focus on the exclusion part.
Please make use of the risk-based scanning and exclude the "task" or "process" that is responsible for the job to complete.

If the issue persists, post the exclusions, please gather the details mentioned in the below article under the "Slow performance (reproducible)" and then reach out to the McAfee technical support to check and resolve this issue.

Along with the mentioned data, you will have to provide us with the MER logs too

Hi ,
To being with , i would suggest you to use the McAfee default policy on couple of servers and check if that makes any difference .
Are you using the Standard settings for all processes or have you configured any different settings for High Risk and Low Risk processes .
IF you have fine tuned the policy as per recommendation , then i would suggest to raise a case with McAfee Technical Support .
Thank you .
