Trellix Endpoint Protection for Storage Configuration to send ICAP file antivirus scanning

We've configured Trellix Endpoint Protection for Storage so it can listen to and answer to ICAP virus scanning requests.

Config was made and the "client server" has access to the "main server" on which ICAP Scanning has been activated.
We confirmed this via a TCP connectivity test.
We could also confirm the ICAP Server is listening to requests on port 1344 as configured.

However, when we try to make an actual sfile scan via the ICAP "C-ICAP-client" software (which is a common standard ICAP client used for this and for tests), we get no response from the ICAP server

/usr/bin/c-icap-client -f clean -i -p 1344 -v -s ICAP-TST
ICAP, ip:10.112.yyy.yyy, port:1344

May be the service name (?) is not correctly defined ([-s service]), which might explain why the request doesn't work.
What service name should we use for ICAP file virus scanning?
Is there a default dervice name or is there a place where we should configure this?

We couldn't find any related info in the documentation.

Can you help ?

Thank you in advance

Re: Trellix Endpoint Protection for Storage Configuration to send ICAP file antivirus scanning

Hi @Marvin ,

I would check on the below points.

1. What is the Bind Address used for ICAP?

If using a LoopBack, try system's IP address instead.

2. Are there any errors in ICAPScan_Activity.log

Location - C:\ProgramData\McAfee\Endpoint Security\Logs
