Upgrade Path from ENS 10.5.4 to ENS 10.5.5 May 2019 Upgrade using SCCM

Jump to solution

Greetings

We use ePO to manage ENS but we prefer to perform our deployments through SCCM.  My question relates to upgrading from ENS 10.5.4 to ENS 10.5.5, May 2019 using SCCM.  My question is for both the Platform and Threat Prevention, but for simplicity sake I'll just refer to the platform.

1.  What's the upgrade path from ENS 10.5.4 to ENS 10.5.5 May 2019?  Can I just run setupcc.exe from the Endpoint_Security_Platform_10.5.5.5223.1_May_Update_190514 folder?  Or, do I have to first have to run setupcc.exe from Endpoint_Security_Platform_10_5_5_5067_14_client first?

2. I notice within ePO Software Manager there's a "standalone" package available.  Does anyone know if this "standalone" package is suitable for ePO managed ENS installs?  Should I be using this for deploying ENS that's managed by ePO using SCCM?

3. Does anyone know what the command line options are for setupcc.exe.  Where is the default log location?  When I run it on my PC nothing seems to happens.

1. Setupcc.exe from ENS 10.5.5 patch package should be run first before running setupcc.exe from ENS 10.5.5 May update package to upgrade from ENS 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 May update.

2. If the standalone package zip file is extracted it will contain zip file packages for individual ENS modules which can be check-in to ePO master repository. The packages for ENS modules can be used for SCCM deployment.

3. Refer ENS install guide for list of command line options. The default ENS install logs location for ePO installation is C:\Windows\TEMP\McAfeeLogs and for local installation is %Temp%
\McAfeeLogs ie. C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\McAfeeLogs.
