What happens after license expires?

Does Endpoint Security stop working on all endpoints after the license expires? 

Or it stops getting AMcore updates but works normally? 

Consider a scenario where a host has Endpoint Security installed, but is offline. The license expires, and the host comes back online after the expiration and communicates to ePO. Would it stop working as soon as the license expires, or after it communicates to ePO. 
We have some hosts like this, so we want to confirm what happens after license expiration.

A trial license is valid for 60days and should be renewed prior to expiry.

Incase a licensed version was previously installed, then it continues to work as normal even after the Grant Expires. However you must renew to receive continued Support.
