When is 10.7 coming out?

Jump to solution

When i went to MPower in 2018, they showed us all the neat new features that would be coming out in Endpoint Security 10.7.  From my understanding at the time, 10.7 was in Beta and would be released very soon.  But so far, I havent seen anything about it.  It's almost time for MPower 2019, and still no 10.7.

What is the delay that is preventing it's release?

Product Management decided to hold the release until we (McAfee) are happy with the quality of the product. Currently there is no new release date for ENS 10.7.

@jeffbennett Did you use the ENS 10.6.x completely and you know all its pros and cons 🙂

We have been using ENS 10.6.1 since it's release, but I would hardly say that I know all it's pro's and cons.  We are a relatively small setup with only about 1000 endpoints.  We definitely are not using 10.6.1 to it's complete potential, but we are liking the portions that we are using. I only ask this questions because at MPower last year, we were shown all kinds of really cool features, but haven't seen them materialized yet.

If you haven't done it yet and are interested in getting more out of ENS 10.5/6/7, the fastest and biggest wins will certainly be from enabling more than the default Exploit Prevention rules, and if you have a TIE server, containing based upon unknown reputation.

@jeffbennett I wish you could wait until the end of this year, as the current version of ENS is really doing good with respect to performance and it is proven stable. McAfee would keep focusing on its issues and would bundle it with the required solutions in the up coming release, so ideally it would take some time.

Could it be just after Windows 10 - 19.03 - since 10.6.1 is NOT running on that version?

Once a compatible version of ENS with the latest Win 10 has been released, this KB will be updated:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB85784

I would recommend subscribing to this KB to receive a notification as soon as it's updated with any information. As far as I'm aware a 10.6.x version will be released for the newest Win 10.
