Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is not supported with Endpoint Security

I have a number of web developer systems that use Ubuntu and have ENS installed on them.  After a lot of frustration trying to get ENS to play nice with Ubuntu I found the KB below that says WSL is not supported with ENS. Since this KB was last updated in 06/19 I am wondering if there's any ETA or status update regarding when ENS will support WSL.  Also, am I correct to assume McAfee Move (MPF) client installed on the system will play nice with WSL if the SVM doing the offload scanning has ENS installed?  If not, then what are my options with McAfee software?

Re: Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is not supported with Endpoint Security

I am very sorry for your situation. Managing COWBOYS (Thats how you call developers in Corporate IT) is impossible. We hoped that withj the Apple Integration of ENS this would better but i think still very complex. All the automation stuff like Ansibel which they need on TUX to finally HAVE something 25% like Group Policy GPO on Windows does not realy solve that.(20 years after Microsoft....)

Try to manage Windows Plattform coders who found out they can automate all they do with Powershell with ENS and the same guys try to tro proof every 2 weeks that ENS is not safe by trying out some slight modidied PS Scripts they found...

Mission impossible....

Seperate in VLAN and behind a seperate Firewall just form them....

1237915 issue tracker ref. the access protection rule update. its refer to its identical change as IDS_AP_RULE_PREVENT_WSL_EXECUTEION:IDS_BLADE_NAME_SPB is translated to the Access Protection rule "Executing Windows Subsystem for Linux". But i we disable the rule the issue resolves. But we need specification how we can keep the rule active but add exclusion for our environment.
