Windows User Account Control (UAC) while ENS Windows Unmanaged Installation

Jump to solution

Hello Community,

we try to install the ENS in unmanaged mode according the instructions here: https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/endpoint-security-10.6.0-installation-guide-unmanaged-windows/page/GU...

When we run the command in the cmd or powershell, the UAC comes up.

We used in the command any of the following switches:

/qn or /quiet

/qb! or /passive

/qb

But Windows User Account Control (UAC) comes up and wait for input.

Which switch can be use to prevent UAC?

Thanks & Regards

Robert

The installer requires full admin rights. If this is not given, then you will get UAC prompts.

Running the installer without admin permissions can lead to other issues so I would urge you not to try and find a workaround for the prompts but instead to use the correct permissions for the installation.

@rokasporch Once logged in as the full admin, you also should run cmd or powershell as admin as well.
