Add a key in DKIM

I had a quick question on DKIM signing.


 

Can I add a key without enabling DKIM signing? If yes, then
will it impact anything?

What I want to achieve is, after adding the key, we can see the
“public key”. Using the public key, we can populate the TXT record in DNS
before hand enabling DKIM.

Your response on this would be highly appreciated.
