HOWTO Whitelist a PUP ? (Utility Program)

Jump to solution

Mcafee VSE 8.8 keeps detecting OperaPassView.exe as a PUP and deletes it everytime i download it to the computer or excecute the file.

Can someone please share how i can whitelist OperaPassView.exe or any program in general so that Mcafee VSE does not  delete the program file. I havent been able to download it and i need it to use one off.

Thanks in advance

Greetings,
With PUP's there is a seperate policy.
See KB50383
In short within the  Unwanted Programs Policy create a exclusion for the "Detection name

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply but the article only state hows its done on a single workstation it does not state how its done in ePO. I want to create a policy on ePO Server not on a single workstation

UPDATE!

Thanks! Re-read your instrcutions and figured it out.

On the ePO Server I just go into VSE 8.8  Unwanted Programs Policy  then go to Unwanted program exclusions and add the "Threat Name" of the detected Program (PUP) then click Save.

The program is working now, Regards.
