Hi,
I am managing the ePO and am trying to deploy VSE for Storage from ePO.
We recently bought several licences for VSE for Storage (VSESTOR) and we are trying our first installation on the first 3 servers.
I have created the VSESTOR policies, I have set-up a deployment task and tried to get it to run, but it fails every time.
I don't understand where the problem is, I don't see anything in the logs.
Does anyone have any idea or suggestion of what I should look for?
Thank you for your (urgent) help.

A prerequisit for VSE for storage is McAfee Agent and Virusscan. This is mentioned in the guide:

So yes, please install regular VSE as this is what will do the scanning. Then deploy VSES which will act as the plugin and connector to the scanner. There will not be any conflicts. The VSE policies will act for any scanning happening on the local scan server and the VSES policies will be enforced for the scanning activities from your appliances.
@Marvin Yes, VSE 8.8 is a pre-requisite for VSE for Storage (VSES) as VSES is just a plug-in into the main VSE software. There will not be conflicts as the VSE policies will protect your VSES server, and then the VSES portion is what will interface with your Storage devices and facilitate the scanning directives.
You can read more, including reference the dependency information of VSES to VSE in the product guide PD27426.

Have you already installed the McAfee Agent and VSE on the system prior to running the VSE Storage installation?
Thank you for your time,
Well, the Agent (5.5.1) is installed, but not VSE.
I didn't know it was necessary, I'm trying to instal & use the specific "VSE for Storage 1.3", not VSE 8.8.x (Patch 12) - and I'll add that the documentation doesn't mention it.
Should I first install the "normal" VSE and then VSE for Storage ?
What will happen with VSE policies ? Wouldn't there be conflicts ?
Thanks again
Serge
