Client Proxy 2.5 stops routing all traffic

I am running into an issue where after a length of time, it seems to vary, and can be between a few minutes and a few hours, the new McAfee Client Proxy 2.5.0 stops routing all HTTP traffic.

This does not happen with 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 on the same laptop.

I validated with Fiddler on the local system that all traffic is failing.

The only fix i have found is to reboot the system, but after an hour or two the issue resurfaces.

This is on Windows 1809 and 1903, with McAfee agent 5.6.0 and 5.6.1.

Re: Client Proxy 2.5 stops routing all traffic

Hi noobmode,

MCP have a mechanism to detect tractability of defined proxies or detecting your office network. Big question is here: What happens after 1 hour?

Could you please create either MCP support tool output or MER File when connection failed. Check also redirecting status of "MCP About" info page.(For "win" press start and begin to type "about")

  1.  Download MER tool (McAfee.com)
  2. Run MER tool as administrator
  3. Select "McAfee Client Proxy"
  4. Save the log at location Machine or at remote location.

Please create new Service Request and attach those logs to along with the description or link to this post. An engineer will check and assist you with further troubleshooting.

With kind regards,

Sergej

Best Regards,
Sergej
