Downgrade WBG-5500-E to 9.2.x

We are attempting to replace our WBG-4500-C models with WBG-5500-E. The 'E's came preinstalled with MLOS 10.2.5, but our cluster is runnint 9.2.x, so we need to downgrade the code. I have ISO for 9.2.16, and connect it using RMM. When I boot from the virtual CD, I can see it boots the installer for 9.2.x. I select the option to begin the install, and the screen goes blank for a minute or two, then it just reboots... it never actually does the install. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to downgrade a WBG-5500-E to 9.2.x?

Should mention that I know 9.2.x is out of support. But this is a temporary situation... we need to upgrade due to performance issues with the 'C' boxes, and ideally don't want to wait until we can upgrade the cluster. Our alternative is to have two clusters, which will not be great.

Hello @Derek

what you see on the screen before the screen goes blank? Do you see following lines (see attached image)?:

  1. searching for installation source
  2. 1..2..3..4..5
  3. search for ..
  4. found ..
  5. [SUCCESS]
  6. SYSTEM GEN / RECOVERY
  7. Board: XXXXX
  8. WARNING:

During the system "waits" and then "goes blank" use Alt+F3 and Alt+F4 to switch to other console and see what is happening. If you're lucky then you'll see an error message or a reason

Hi @fw_mon

I don't see those messages - the screen goes blank, and the cursor flashes in the bottom left for a minute or two. Then it reboots. I tried Alt-F3 / Alt-F4, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

try to verify the checksum of the ISO image, write it on a USB stick and use it to boot the appliance directly.
