Email Alert Notification

Jump to solution

Is there anyway to test the email configuration in web gateway 7? Rather then applying an event to a rule?

Thanks

Yes, go to a command line prompt of your one of your proxies and do the following. Where the bold is what you would need to type in.

telnet 10.10.10.10 25  (this would be the same IP as you have in your email configuration)
Trying 10.10.10.10...
Connected to 10.10.10.10.
Escape character is '^]'.

Thank you very much. Indeed this is the best way to verify that SMTP is working properly. There is no "Test Email" button yet 😞

Best,
