how to size McAfee CSR to choose the hardware requirements that fit with customer , as the customer suffering from performance issue when generating web reports for 3 days , the customer use external DB and use Separate servers for epo and CSR . is there any guide or best practices to install reporting without performance issues
Solved! Go to Solution.
Per the 2.6 installation guide: The amount of time it takes for the schema to update depends on the size of your database. For example, a database with 50 GB of data takes about 5 hours to update.
So it could take 1 hour per 10 gb of data.
Hi adnankhazaleh,
I would like to know little more information on this issue. What kind of performance issue are you facing.
Is it a dedicated EPO for CSR. Are you looking hardware configuration for EPO server or CSR database server. If you could explain little more with detailed information, it would be helpful for us to look into it.

installation Guide shows the hardware requirements for three customer size categories without any Clarification to choose the right category
We've struggled through a number of CSR performance issues. How many log sources are sending data and how long are you keeping the logs in the database? Based on that, what did you size for the DB and the CSR server?
there are two log source sending about 30 - 50 log files of 100 MB daily , and the customer keeps data for 12 months
the database size is about 300 GB and increasing
Is this using MSSQL? And is partitioning enabled?
What size did you do for the CSR server and DB? Medium or Small?
Yes, the Database is Mssql and managed by the customer, we use small size for CSR server
