Migrate Web Reporter to Content Security Reporter

Jump to solution
Hi, My client wants to migrate web reporter to content security reporter. We are asking if we need additional license for content security reporter to work because web reporter did not. And the last question, we found on documentation that ePO is mandatory for CSR to work. What is the utiliy of ePO because Web Gateway and web reporter are working withou it.

Hi,

the only License key you need, is the one for the ePolicy Orchestratpr (ePO)
If your client has a supported Webgateway, you'll find the ePO License Key under Product Downloads on the Support Portal: https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/de-de/downloads/my-products.html

You need to download ePO Installation Files, ePO Extentions for CSR and the CSR Installer.

The Installation Procedure is described in Detail here: https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/content-security-reporter-2.7.0-installation-guide/page/GUID-A181F000...

Best regards
   Marcus

Hello @User41992699,

I might not have all details you are interested in but let me answer some questions:

1. There is no migration from web reporter to CSR, so fresh new install from scratch

2. Yes, web reporter was a stand alone install with own UI whereas CSR is a standalone install but does not have an own UI. To maintain CSR, you need to have ePO installed which then has installed CSR extension so that you get the UI. Then you can access CSR UI via ePO menu > report server settings

3. ePO is a tool to manage clients, create install/uninstall tasks of certain products and much more

4. CSR should also be free

Nevertheless, for more safety and details, please get in touch with sales people for correct discussion based on your needs.
Hope I could help you.
