Proxy SWG how to force info page in browser

Jump to solution

Hello,

I would like to let the Proxy SWG send an info popup to the user when then user wants to access a website via this particular proxy. This popup should appear in the browser window and the user should confirm it.

If it is not possible to use a popup, maybe it is possible to push some kind of HTML page to the user before he can access the website.

edit:
I just found in the "Policy > Temlates > Welcome Page" a HTML config for exact the usage I want to activate. I created my own info page by cloning the welcome page. But how to activate the welcome page?

Kind regards,

Frank

Hello @User27001337

you're on the right track!

Try this:

  1. navigate to Policy > RuleSet
  2. click a green Add button > Add Top Level RuleSet > Import RuleSet from Rule Set Library
  3. click Coaching/Quota > Welcome Page
  4. if you see any conflict on the right pane: on the right side click on "import conflicts" > Auto-solve confilicts > Solve by refering to existing objects > OK
  5. Now you have 3 choices when the welcome page need to be enabled: for some URL categories, for some client IPs, for some authenticated users - choose what suits you best. You can click on "unlock view" button and modify rule as you like - you should be familiar with the logic of the Web Gateway to do so.

Be aware that this rule should be activated for interactive connections only - if you enable it for updates, scripts and background downloads, they will likely fail because they cannot "click" on the "accept" button.

I suggest to try this rule in a lab environment first, test it with browser, authenticated and not authenticated users, with non-interactive processes, and only then enable it in production.

Good Luck!

P.S. have you already done one of SkyHigh's trainings? This topic is handled during the training.
