REST API To upload File to Web Gateway

Hi guys, I am currently hosting a proxy PAC file for my users on the McAfee Web Gateway 8.x. The reason I do this is because we have 2 GWs behind a VIP so works great for HA etc. Now, I am embarking on an Office 365 rollout and need to keep this PAC file up to date each month as new API endpoints are released.

So, I have a process in place to generate a new PAC file as required but I need an automated method to upload to the Web gateway. Is this possible using the REST API or the like?

Re: REST API To upload File to Web Gateway

Hi,

how is the proxy.pac hosted? In rules served via the proxy or as a plain file on the OS served via the UI/File Server ports?

If hosted in rules you can use the REST API to make modifications, which will be a bit painful but technically possible.

If hosted as a file you can simply update the file using SCP or some scripts on the OS. No need for the REST API.
