Removing MWG HA appliance from cluster/HA for testing

Jump to solution

I currently have a couple of MWG appliances configured for HA.

I need to take appliance #2 out of HA to to troubleshoot a routing issue but need to but keep Virtual IP in place, so I don't take down web browsing for my users.

How would I accomplish this?

Do I simply do this:

1) delete the appliance #2 from the cluster

2) configure appliance #2 to "proxy" mode, instead of "proxy HA" mode

3) leave appliance #1 in Proxy HA mode

Thanks,

Hi Wyrm,

All that is required is step 2 (disable ProxyHA); step 3 is more implied, just set it back to "Proxy" under Configuration > [Select the problem appliance] > Proxies:

You could delete it from the cluster if you wanted, but its not required. It might be desirable to delete it if you were making a lot of policy changes (different from Configuration changes like you might do for Static Routing).

Best Regards,

Jon
