Jump to solution

Hi ,

I get the below below message on non-director node occasionally

5 minute load average exceeds selected limit (4.30 / 3.00). (Origin: health monitor)

5 minute load average exceeds selected limit (5.19 / 3.00). (Origin: health monitor, 2 times within the last 93 secs)

5 minute load average exceeds selected limit (13.60 / 3.00). (Origin: health monitor, 12 times within the last 18 minutes)

And on the director node I get the below message occasionally

https://tau.mcafee.com sent back a bad reponse status (Origin: Updater)

What are these messages?

Thanks

Hello,

I don't think both messages are related.

There is a hardcoded load limit of "3". When this load limit is exceeded, MWG prints an error to the dashboard. That usually indicates that there was a point of time when MWG  had "a lot to do". It could be a complicated file that is filtered, a lot of people accessing MWG at the same time, updates running or anything else that requires CPU or IO power. If there is no noticable impact such as slow browsing or other issues it should be OK to ignore the warning. If it shows up too often: File an SR with support.

The other message indicates the MWG was unable to contact the update servers. tau.mcafee.com is a cluster of several servers, so even if one fails a few minutes later MWG should contact a different server and gets its updates. You can see in the dashboard how old the updates are, if they are recent - all is good 🙂

Best,

Andre
