which settings do you exactly mean? You mean on the switches right!?
It is depending on the scenario. If you have only one MWG like: switch - MWG - switch, STP must not be disabled on the switches.
If you use 2 MWGs for example like: switch - MWG1/MWG2 - switch, you have 2 options:
A) disable STP on all direct connected switches, otherwise the MWGs cannot see each other and hence communication and status fails
B) if other machines in your network require STP you have further 2 options:
B1) use VLANs and disable STP per VLAN (as far as I know this should be possible)
B2) put in another 2 switches which have STP disabled and are directly connected to the MWGs like: switch (STP) - switch (no STP) - MWG1/MWG2 - switch (no STP) - switch (STP)
