Cannot update SQL settings on Agent handler

Jump to solution
We recently migrated the ePO database to SQL server 2019 and changed servers. I was able to update the ePO settings for the ePO server itself but cannot update the SQL settings for the agent handler. The documentation says to update the SQL setting by rerunning the initial ePO installation. We dont have these files anymore, and I dont see where these can be downloaded. I need the agent handler install files for ePO 5.10.0 update 15.

I was able to successfully update the SQL settings by editing the DB properties file located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\Agent Handler\DB\db".

Process Steps:

1. Stop the agent handler services

2. Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\Agent Handler\DB" and open the db file with Notepad

3. Make the changes you need for the new SQL settings and save the file

4. Restart the agent handler services

Not sure why this is not part of the online documentation since this is easier then having to track down the original ePO install files.

Thanks for the assistance.

Hello @BartholomewKD ,

Yes you need EPO 5.10 base package where you will have Agent Handler setup file.

Run the setup file and click on modify providing new sql details and it should update in AH.

If you lost the EPO 5.10 base version package, then I would suggest you to raise SR with Trellix to receive the package.

Once you run the setup for it after you get the files, you will need to reapply whatever cu version was previously installed.

That typically doesn't work with later versions of epo since the password hashes are unique to epo install.  How exactly did you change that?  If you only changed port or sql server name, that might be ok.
