Client task for multiple client installations

If I create a Client Task that includes the installation of multiple clients, are they all launched at once or are they sequenced as they are listed in the Client Task?

Re: Client task for multiple client installations

I assumed so...as one of my tasks has three client installs and the third always doesn't install.  Is there a way to increase the timeout or put a pause in to allow for the first two to complete?

Re: Client task for multiple client installations

That might depend on the products you are installing.  If the agent is one of them, take that out of any chained task.  The reason being is that when the agent is installed or upgraded, services stop and that kills the in progress task.  Otherwise there might be some other products that are pushing a reboot.  You kind of have to look at the mcscript deploy log to see what is happening with it.  It is possible something is actually failing to install.  You might want to consider the order of things too.  For example, with ens, you install the platform first, then the other modules.

Re: Client task for multiple client installations

Understood, and thank you.

This is regarding Drive Encryption.  The deployment order is DE Agent, DE for Windows, DE Go.  I believe I have reordered with the same outcome, the last does not install.  I will test reordering today.

Re: Client task for multiple client installations

Check the mcscript deploy log.  It should show it downloading the files, then running the setup for each.  When it gets to the last one that you say doesn't get installed, does it actually invoke the setup file for it?  You would see it saying something like Executing "C:\ProgramData\McAfee\Agent\\Current.... path to exe file.  If you see that, then you would need to look at the msi install log for that product (windows\temp\mcafeelogs).  If you don't see it executing, then look through the log to see what might be going on.
