Client to server communication encrypted

Is client to server communication encrypted in transit? If not is there a way to encrypt it?

Yes, it is encrypted.  See KB86318.  The product guide for MA also has this (found on docs.mcafee.com):

McAfee ePO uses an industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) network protocol for secure network transmissions.
