OK, I figured it out.

The default push attempts to install to this location:

<PROGRAM_FILES_DIR>\McAfee\Agent

When I changed to this location the push succeeded.

<SYSTEM_DRIVE>\McAfee\Agent

Thanks,

Stewart

How are you deploying it and what errors are you getting?

Hello @User27605043

Thanks for your post.

A system will become managed only when you are deploying McAfee Agent through ePO.

There are couple of ways to deploy:

1) System Tree-Select Machine-Actions-Deploy Agent -Provide Credentials and click Ok

please refer kb56386 for the requirements.

2) You can refer the below link for creating the package and run it on machine as Administrator manually ,Refer below KB

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51661

3) You can use AD Sync option : System Tree-Group Details-Edit-Push Agent option

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/epolicy-orchestrator-5.10.0-product-guide/page/GUID-4799D38D-65F1-431...

4) You can create a Server Task for Unmanaged machines and run it.

You can use anyone of the above.

If deploying from ePO and if in case it is failing please refer server.log at ePO end and from client machine Frminst.log and Mfeagent log available in Windows-Temp-McAfee Logs.

I push Agents to Workstations and Servers all the time. The issue here is Core servers, have no GUI, so I am not sure if there is something I need to do special to make the agent push work for these. So far when I try to push the same way as regular servers it fails.

Fails with what error?  Check to make sure environmental requirements are met - https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB56386

In the server log of epo or agent handler, you will see push failed with err= and some error code.  You can use net helpmsg error# to find out what that error is.
