Disabling Catch-All

Hi,

I am finishing the move of my PCs from one EPO server to another. both are running EPO 4.5 p6. Now to avoid auto-registration I would like disable the Catch-all process and then close the old server. Is it possible ?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

M.

Re: Disabling Catch-All

I'm not sure quite what you mean by the catch-all process - can you explain in a bit more detail?

Thanks -

Re: Disabling Catch-All

Joe,

Thank you for your quick answer. Currently we have moved most of the existing PCs to the new server. We've removed access to all technicien to avoid PC addition, based on the logs it appear that no one add any PC on the old box but daily we found new PCs inserted. We don't use any AD Sync or auto-feed. So have suspected something like a background task based on  "catch-all".

My main idea is to found a solution to avoid any auto insertion on this server to quickly remove it.

Thanks.

Re: Disabling Catch-All

Thanks, that helps

The new  machines that are being added - are they shown as managed or unmanaged? Do they have any properties, for example an IP address or last communication time?

Thanks -

Joe

Re: Disabling Catch-All

If there are no sync tasks and the systems are not being manually added, the only other way I know of for systems to just show up in ePO is if they are new IT assets created via an image or like process that has the McAfee Agent integrated or perhaps someone has a framepkg from the old server and is installing it on systems.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Re: Disabling Catch-All

Joe,

Yes all PCs have Managed status and properties and correct Last communication time.

Mark,

Correct. Some folks have framepkg.

Since Monday (Tuesday was off here). Have Disabled all Tasks so now no more machine added. Now I need to deal with the remaining but not a big deal.

Tx you for your help.
