EPO4 Dashboard not showing uptodate information from McAfee

Hi All,

I have EPO4 - Patch3 running on a fresh windows 2003 server, at the moment I have EPO4 installing and removing software remotely from test machines(which is what I want) but at the same time it would be usefull to have the dashboard showing what the latest available files are and whats currently in MyAvert Security Threats.

Please see below for what the dashboard currently looks like. The system is connected to the web through a proxy server and I can navigate to McAfee and any other site with out any problems.

********************** Dashboard Output ****************************

The latest MyAvert information was not successfully retrieved from McAfee.

My Repository Latest Available

Engine: 5300.2777 --
64-Bit DAT 5554.0000 --

MyAvert Security Threats: 0 unread
Last check: Unknown

Please Help

Kind Regards
Bob

You have to have port 8801 open, check out this thread:

RE: EPO4 Dashboard not showing uptodate information from McAfee

I'm having the same issue on my ePO 4.0 Patch 3 server. I have the proxy settings set to use what's assigned within Internet Explorer, and when I try going to the following URL I have access to view its contents:

http://myavert.avertlabs.com:8801/ReportService.asmx

But if it doesn't update in the dashboard of the ePO console, what am I missing?

Will be trying the above today

Hi All,

Thank you for your sugestions.

I have the proxy settings enabled and set as they are in internet explorer.

How ever I was not aware that port 8801 needed to be enabled at the proxy its self. I will sort the squid and firewall settings this afternoon and let you know whats happening with this.

Kind Regards

Problem Fixed

Hi All,

I have found a solution for this issue.

I have disabled the proxy for the system and added the machine as an exception for internet access behind our firewall.

This has fixed dash information error and it now shows that I am protectet as the Dats and products in my repositry match the latest on the website.

Kind Regards
Bob
