Event ID for Success/Failure Disaster Recovery Snapshot task?

Jump to solution

Hello,

Trying to create an "Automatic Response" that will email me the result of the 'Disaster Recovery Snapshot" task.

Cant figure out if there is an event stored in ePO 5.9.1 when a  snapshot is taken or not.

Thanks

I don't know of an event ID for that, but you can create a query in epo.  Go to new query, logging, task log entries.  Set it as a table, then under the filter tab under task log entries, choose name = Disaster Recovery Snapshot Server and Status = failed.  You can also set the End Date to is within the last 1 day (if you are running this daily), then save the query.  Note the time your server task typically runs and its duration, then set up a new server task to run that query after the snapshot task would have had time to complete.  As secondary action, you can email that report to you.  Unfortunately, you will get the report daily (or your desired frequency) whether it is blank or not, but I don't know any other way to do that since that option isn't an available one under automatic responses.

As a side note, you can request that feature be added to automatic responses following kb60021.

Thank you @cdinet

The daily report workaround doesn't quite satisfy my style of monitoring but I did use your query idea to set up a little dashboard i added to my collection that will allow me to track success/failures when i log in to ePO.

I'll go ahead and enter an idea to get a similar behavior as the master repository that comes with a Automatic Response built for the very purpose of being notified when the snapshot fails.
